Dr Brian Parsons


Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Brian Parsons is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in the mental health of older adults. He studied Medicine at University College, Dublin. After completing his Medical and Surgical residency posts he trained in General Practice and obtained membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners. Dr Parsons then went on to train in psychiatry in Ireland, Australia and the United Kingdom gaining a CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry with an endorsement in Liaison Psychiatry. He took a substantive consultant post with Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in 2007 where he is currently working as a Community Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist.

Dr Parsons has previously managed in-patients with functional mental illness and dementia, as well as providing Liaison Psychiatry services to St. Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey. He was the Trust Clinical Lead for the “Enhancing Quality Programme for Dementia” and his Memory Service has been accredited as “Excellent” by the Memory Services National Accreditation Programme (Royal College of Psychiatrists) in 2015.

Dr Parsons has recently completed a four year term as an Elected Member of the Executive Committee of the South East Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2002 and was awarded a Higher Diploma in Healthcare Risk Management in 2003.

Brian provides thorough diagnostic assessments, treatment and ongoing reviews. He aims to see you within a matter of days from referral and can see you at your home or at our consulting rooms.

Appointment prices

Initial assessment of 90 minutes incl. report, priced at £450.

Comprehensive diagnostic & capacity assessment of 120 minutes incl. report, priced at £750.

Optional follow-ups at £300 for 60 minutes, and £200 for 30 minutes.

Home visit supplements starting from £100.
