Dr James Warner

Dr Warner is a consultant psychiatrist specialising in older adult’s mental health. He qualified as a doctor from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in 1986. After further training as a physician he undertook training in psychiatry in Liverpool before a series of academic appointments at Charing Cross Hospital, Royal Free Hospital and then Imperial College London.

He has been a consultant psychiatrist at Central North West London Foundation Trust since 1998 specialising in diagnosis and treatment of dementia, depression, psychosis and other mental illnesses. His training as a physician as well as a psychiatrist enables me to provide holistic care for my patients.

He was elected as chair of the Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2012, he is the UK representative for Old Age Psychiatry in the World Psychiatric Association and was appointed National Professional Advisor for old age psychiatry at the Care Quality Commission in 2014. He is also the Medical Director of Red & Yellow Care.

Dr Warner an honorary reader in psychiatry at Imperial College London. His academic interests include research and teaching. Dr Alex Bailey

Dr Alex Bailey graduated in Clinical Sciences from the University of Leeds in 2003 and subsequently gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Systemic and Family Therapy and a Master’s in Education from Imperial College. He is currently working as a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry at Westminster Older Adults and Health Ageing Community Mental Health Team, where he has lead several service improvement initiatives. His previous appointments include Clinical Advisor to the NHS Medical Director at the Department of Health and Teaching Fellow at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. Teaching has always been an integral part of his practice and he is currently Foundation Champion for North West Thames Foundation School and Honorary Lecturer at Imperial College. He is also on the Old Age Faculty Executive at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has recently published a new edition of the popular book “Alzheimer’s at your fingertips”

Dr Colin Mitchell

Dr Colin Mitchell Graduated in Medicine in 2002 from Edinburgh University. He has served as a Senior House Officer and Specialist Registrar at various hospitals throughout the UK and also the Maroondah Hospital in Melbourne. He is now a consultant Geriatrician and Physician at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. His extra-clinical work includes positions as speaker at the Elder Care /Ageing Seminars for the Working Parent Company and as an Honorary Lecturer for Imperial College. Colin has a special interest in using Information Technology and Social Media to improve training and service design and has authored numerous articles and presentations on the subject, such as “Using smartphones and the medical web to become a more up-to-date, productive and informed physician” (CME – Geriatric Medicine, Jun 2011).

Dr Giovanna Zamboni

Dr Giovanna Zamboni is a Senior Clinical Fellow and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurology, University of Oxford.  She graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Neurology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy, where she developed a special interest in dementia and cognitive disorders and worked in memory clinics while also continuing her clinical training in general neurology. She then worked as postdoctoral fellow for almost three years at the National Institutes of Health in the United States. In 2008 she joined the Oxford Project to Investigate Memory and Ageing (OPTIMA) to lead the continued development of the neuroimaging research while working as Locum Consultant in the Oxford Memory Clinic (OXMAC) of the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.  In 2012 she obtained a doctoral degree (DPhil) defending a thesis entitled “Structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging in the prediction and characterization of Alzheimer’s disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment”. She is currently responsible for the continued development of functional imaging research of the Stroke and Dementia Prevention Research Unit in Oxford. She is author of several papers and publications in the fields of imaging and dementia. Her clinical expertise is in the early detection of cognitive impairment and in the differential diagnosis of atypical dementia.

Dr Brian Parsons

Dr Brian Parsons is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in the mental health of older adults. He studied Medicine at University College, Dublin. After completing his Medical and Surgical residency posts he trained in General Practice and obtained membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners. Dr Parsons then went on to train in psychiatry in Ireland, Australia and the United Kingdom gaining a CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in General Adult and Old Age Psychiatry with an endorsement in Liaison Psychiatry. He took a substantive consultant post with Surrey & Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in 2007 where he is currently working as a Community Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist.

Dr Parsons has previously managed in-patients with functional mental illness and dementia, as well as providing Liaison Psychiatry services to St. Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey. He was the Trust Clinical Lead for the “Enhancing Quality Programme for Dementia” and his Memory Service has been accredited as “Excellent” by the Memory Services National Accreditation Programme (Royal College of Psychiatrists) in 2015.

Dr Parsons has recently completed a four year term as an Elected Member of the Executive Committee of the South East Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2002 and was awarded a Higher Diploma in Healthcare Risk Management in 2003.

Dr Ana Saiz

Dr Saiz qualified as a medical doctor in the Basque Provinces in the North of Spain; she then undertook psychiatric training in London “Guy’s and St Thomas’ training programme” and obtained the Membership with the Royal College of Psychiatrist in 1995.

Dr Saiz is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialised in older adults services (people over 50). She has been a Consultant for Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust since 1999. Her special interest is the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative conditions like dementia. She has been the Clinical Lead for the Memory Services in the Trust for the past three years having contributed to the development of this service and the subsequent accreditation with the Royal College of Psychiatrist.

She has done a lot of work in primary care settings helping to promote early diagnosis of dementia and early interventions to improve the prognosis of this condition.

Dr Ramin Nilforooshan

Dr Ramin Nilforooshan is a Consultant Psychiatrist, specialising in Older Adult Mental Health. He completed his psychiatric training in Guy’s and Maudsley Rotation and has been a Consultant Psychiatrist for Older Adults in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust since 2011 and is now also Associate Medical Director for research and development.

He is specialty lead for dementia research for Kent, Surrey and Sussex, Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Surrey and Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London.

Dr Hema Ananth

Dr Hema Ananth qualified from UCL in 1995 and has now been established as a Consultant Psychiatrist for 12 years. She completed her Psychiatric training on the Royal Free Training Scheme. Hema was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2012 for her contribution to Psychiatry. Her NHS work is in Hertfordshire, where she is the lead for the local Memory Service. This involves close work with the Alzheimer’s Society, with whom she has been involved in a voluntary capacity. Hema is the Chair of the Herts Old Age Psychiatry Group and also sits on the Ethics Executive. She has been involved in private practice for 10 years.

Hema is actively involved in Medical Education of Junior Doctors and is a Tutor and enrolled in a Masters in Medical Education. She was elected Secretary of the Psychiatry Council at The Royal Society of Medicine where she promotes Psychiatry and inputs into conferences. She has previously been on the Liaison Faculty and Women in Psychiatry Group at The Royal College of Psychiatrists and remains an active member of the Old Age Faculty.
